Identifying intentionally added microplastics in cosmetic products remains one of the key challenges for the cosmetics industry. While Regulation (EU) 2023/2055 has introduced new obligations for manufacturers and formulators, determining whether a material falls within the scope of the restriction often requires both regulatory interpretation and analytical expertise.

In this free webinar, our Regulatory Affairs expert and the Director of our Chemical Laboratory will provide an overview of the current regulatory framework and the main analytical considerations related to intentionally added microplastics in cosmetic formulations.

The session will cover the definition of synthetic polymer microparticles (SPMs), the scope of the restriction, the main analytical approaches currently available, and the challenges associated with identifying microplastics in different cosmetic matrices. Participants will also gain an overview of the information required to support compliance and reporting obligations under the new EU framework.
