ON 21 DECEMBER 2022 REGULATION (EU) 2022/2340 OF 30 NOVEMBER ENTERS INTO FORCE AND INTRODUCES RESTRICTIONS ON GREEN TEA EXTRACTS CONTAINING (-)- epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG).

 

This Regulation amends Annex III to Regulation (EC) 1925/2006 in part B by adding Green Tea extracts containing EGCG among the restricted substances.

 

Specifically, it indicates the following conditions of use and additional requirements:

• Daily dose of EGCG should not exceed 800 mg
• Mandatory warnings must be included on the label

 

Extracts containing EGCG have also been added to part C among the substances under surveillance.
