THIS PAPER REVEALS SOME EXCITING DISCOVERIES IN THE FIELD OF FACIAL MICROBIOME AND HOW THIS IS HIGHLY VARIABLE AND IS INFLUENCED BY ENDOGENOUS AND EXOGENOUS FACTORS.

 

THE STUDY – ONE OF THE FEW CARRIED OUT IN EUROPE – WAS CONDUCTED IN ITALY, ON A PANEL OF 183 PEOPLE (159 WOMEN AND 71 MEN), ALL BETWEEN 18 AND 71 YEARS OF AGE.

 

Two endogenous factors are examined – sex and age – and two exogenous factors – season and area – and interesting variations of the microbiome are observed as both factors vary.
