Flex Wash Test:
The antecubital fossa of the arm (flex area) is the test skin area for the Flex Wash Test. Two products are generally compared and tested at the same time.
This test is helpful to discriminate the mildness or the irritancy of personal cleansing products. All wash treatments are performed under the supervision of laboratory technicians. The flex areas are treated three times per day for five consecutive days according to a standardized protocol defining: the amount of product to be applied, product dilution, and time of washing/rinsing.
Skin reactions are assessed by a highly trained assessor (dermatologist).
